photos of Ulaan Bataar

This is the Zaisan Memorial, a high point in the south of the City. The interior ring is a mural celebrating the cooperation of the Mongolian and Soviet peoples. The center has an eternal flame to celebrate that friendship. Significantly, the flame no longer burns.

This is the Blue Sky building, a new 25 story tower in the center of the City. Major new construction, including a 120 story tower by our favorite American, the Donald himself, is planned as part of the City's boom, supported by mining. Hopefully, the developers will also improve the City's infrastructure.

The Zaisan Memorial mural, with a view of the City underneath.

Buddha Park, just below the Zaisan Memorial.

The Tuul River, a major east-west river through the City.

"I am Ozymandias, king of kings, look on my works ye mighty and despair."
Somehow, this statue of Lenin, in front of a major hotel, has not been torn down
